Woodland
Our clients wanted to retire to live in this beautiful arts and crafts home with a very modern twist.
This bespoke Arts & Crafts home combines timeless architecture with modern, energy-efficient construction. Built using a highly insulated timber frame, renewable heating technology, solar panels and battery storage, it delivers exceptional performance while celebrating natural materials and local craftsmanship. We also designed the bespoke Arts & Crafts chimney in-house. Like every Huwga project, the home reflects our belief that true quality comes from thoughtful design, practical function and meticulous attention to detail. At our clients' request, we adapted our scope of work to deliver a fully weathertight building envelope, providing the flexibility needed to support their changing circumstances.
Explore the transformation
Having previously been involved in the building industry I can appreciate the professionalism of Huwga. They have access to top quality trades people and this shows in the quality of the finished product. This was very evident, for example, the roof lead work which incorporated substantial quantity of welded joints and seams. Some of which will never be seen but were of the same top quality as those on the ground floor bay window. Neil followed the brief of the special chimney design and helped to make this a reality. We feel this is another stand out feature of the property in the arts and crafts style. It was a pleasure to work with Neil and Mike and especially appreciated their availability and communication skills. This also covers the tradesmen who were courteous, approachable and tidy throughout the build.- Stuart & Janet
